Summer has erupted with 5 new furnished designer models in the Aqua tower and Benton Place Parkhomes in the Lakeshore East community being developed by Magellan Development Group on the New East Side, a block north of Millennium Park.
Prominent interior designer Robert Pope, who has designed all of the interiors in the celebrated 82-story mixed-use Aqua tower at 225 N. Columbus Drive, has created four of the models, including two Aqua high-rise condo model designs and a pair of elegant Benton Pace Parkhomes at the southeast portion of Lakeshore East.
A fifth model was created by award-winning Aqua design architect Jeanne Gang in conjunction with the grand opening of a cluster of nine Gang-designed Parkhomes facing the Park at Lakeshore East in the three-story Aqua podium. The most recent of a steadily growing list of design awards for Gang’s Aqua design was the highly-esteemed international Emporis Skyscraper of the Year Award.
“There is something here to appeal to both those who prefer high-rise or townhome living with contemporary or traditional motifs,” notes Joel Carlins, Magellan co-CEO.
The new gallery of Aqua Parkhomes is three-bedroom, three-bath designs with 3,226 square feet of interior living space and a 2-car garage that are priced from $1.6 million.
Gang’s model is a collaboration with renowned Brazilian furniture manufacturer Florense to create a ‘green’ residence, complementing the overall eco-friendly LEED standards that have been applied to the design of the 82-story mixed-use Aqua tower at 225 N. Columbus Drive
All the furniture and cabinetry in Gang’s designer model was created by Florense, which has demonstrated its commitment to preserve and protect the environment by becoming the first furniture manufacturer to employ production methods that control the origin, extraction and production of raw materials and manufacturing procedures.
In addition to extraordinary views overlooking the botanic Lakeshore East Park, Aqua Parkhome owners will enjoy the full complement of Aqua’s incomparable amenities available to all Aqua residents.
Pope’s new Aqua condominium designer models include a 1,251-square-foot, two-bedroom, two-bath plan with a southeast view on the 58th floor priced at $755,000 and a two-bedroom, 2.5-bath with den design with 1,577 square feet of living space. It is situated on the 71st floor with a south view priced at $759,000.
Pope’s Benton Place Parkhome models include a two-story plan and a three-story home with a rooftop terrace. The Benton Place Parkhomes include 25 individually styled custom residences overlooking the community’s park.
“Robert Pope has successfully met the challenge to reflect a lifestyle that combines both form and function with cutting-edge design and a touch of elegance that is the spirit of Lakeshore East,” noted Carlins. “His are designs that complement the busy-active lifestyle typical of Lakeshore East residents who also love to entertain. We think visitors will be impressed by Jeanne Gang’s eco-friendly, contemporary approach to her Aqua Parkhome design model that features Florense furnishings and cabinetry.”
The individually styled Benton Place Parkhomes offer gracious living spaces. Inspired by the brownstones of earlier generations, each uniquely designed floor plan combines traditional and modern elements. Spacious rooftop terraces and balconies are complemented by a designer finish package and in-home personal elevators.
The collaboration of Loewenberg Architects and The Steinberg Group of San Jose, CA as design architect, created a variety of design plans, with a private attached parking garage, providing residences ranging in size from 2,400 to 4,000 square feet of elegant living space.
