Shea Homes is a privately owned company and is currently the largest private home builder in the United States*. The company is a subsidiary of J. F. Shea Company Inc., which also owns: Shea Properties, Shea Ventures, J.F. Shea Construction, Redding, Reed Manufacturing, Shea Mortgage and Blue Star.

Shea Homes was established in the 1960′s with a focus on building the finest crafted homes and communities in America. In the 80′s, Shea Homes opened an Arizona division and began building master planned communities throughout California. In the 90′s, Shea Homes expanded into the active-adult market, and began operations in Colorado and Charlotte, North Carolina.
Today, Shea Homes builds single-family homes, condominiums, townhomes, active-adult homes and luxury estates with new homes starting from the $90s; some luxury estates exceed $1 million. Shea operates nine divisions in seven states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Washington, and has delivered more than 73,000 homes.
Shea’s active adult brand, Trilogy Homes, is recognized as a leader in customer satisfaction. Trilogy communities are located in Washington, California, Arizona and Florida and present mature adults with active lifestyle opportunities from the low $200s.
Every Trilogy Home is a Shea Superiology home consisting of “More green features. More home for the money. And a lot more from life”.
Over the years, Shea has earned Professional Builder’s “Builder of the Year” award (’07) and several Shea divisions have received the J.D. Power & Associates “Highest in Customer Satisfaction” award. In addition, in ’05, Shea Homes was named one of “America’s Best Builders” by the National Association of Homebuilders.
