The largest of the three brands, the Pulte brand, builds single-family, townhomes, condominiums and duplexes for first-time and move-up home buyers throughout the nation. The Divosta Homes brand is one of Florida’s largest home builders; the brand offers single family homes, carriage homes and townhomes throughout the Central Florida, Ft. Myers, Naples, Treasure Coast and the Space Coast regions. The Del Webb brand of homes has been building new homes since 1960; today, the brand offers new homes in more than 50 active adult communities to home buyers in 20 states throughout the U.S.

Pulte’s family of new home builders builds new homes and communities in 49 markets spread across 25 states, and the District of Columbia. They build single-family detached homes, townhomes, condominiums and duplexes for first-time, move-up and active adult home buyers. In 2008, Pulte offered homes for sale in 459 communities across the United States. Most of these homes ranged from $100,000 – $400,000 with an average selling price of $284,000. In addition to offering new housing opportunities, Pulte offers financial services through Pulte Mortgage and other subsidiaries.

A recently announced merger between Pulte Homes and Centex Homes will make Pulte Homes the largest home builder in the United States. In 2008, Pulte Homes and Centex Homes closed more than 39,000 houses, which is 15,000 more than America’s largest home builder, D.R. Horton. At the end of March in 2009, Pulte and Centex each had roughly $1.7 billion in cash; the combined company will have the strongest liquidity position among home builders with approximately $3.4 billion in cash.
