“If there isn’t a new way to do it”- invent one! In 1989, Brent received a patent for a concrete column form (Example to the right). Since then, he has used these load bearing poured-in-place concrete columns on many of his homes. He has also developed other uses for decorative concrete, such as fireplace elevations and exterior details…a trademark of the kind of Mediterranean architecture you will see that Pruett Homes specializes in.
Pruett Homes is a family business with Brent as custom home builder, in house design and sales. Brent is a Florida native. He started in the construction business when he was in high school, doing structural concrete work on several high-rise buildings in St. Petersburg and Tampa. He was always doing woodworking-as far back as junior high and even built some furniture early on. Brent attended Georgia Tech and graduated from Westmont College in California earning a degree in sociology. He headed to Colorado with a friend who was determined to build a boys ranch in the mountains when Brent decided to start his own construction company.” - Pruett Homes
