Shea SPACES – A New Approach in Home Building

Shea Spaces' Home in Gilbert, AZmodern.     practical.     smart.

Shea SPACES is a new line of homes introduced towards the end of 2009 from Shea Homes. In a word, these homes are impressive. SPACES’ designs are modern, the use of energy and space is efficient, and the price tag is easy on the pocket book.

From www.SheaSpaces.com, “SPACES encompass the way people live today. These homes aren’t simply updated – they’re re-thought. They’re modern, with flexible interior spaces to fit your lifestyle. They’re energy-efficient; and because they’re Shea Homes, they’re well built. A new kind of house for a new kind of living.”

A quick look at SPACES’ floor plans and elevations confirms that these homes are unique and stylish. Some designs look like mini condominium developments, if you love the look of the new condos going up in downtown areas across the nation, but you can’t commit to city life, Shea SPACES is for you. They’re a refreshing and welcomed change in an industry that doesn’t deliver major design changes often.

It’s a line of homes planned and built for a certain buyer “take the process-engineering revolution Jeff Mezger and his team at KB Home pulled off to make KB’s Open Series the talk of 2009 and give that whole initiative a demographic and psychographic pitch toward that generation of 77 million we’ve long referred to as “tomorrow’s home buyer.”" John McManus, Shea Homes’ Spaces Suddenly Gets the Home Building Industry’s Attention. These homes are built for the younger buyer, but us old folks can like them too.

A brochure from SPACES at Seville reveals some of what’s inside these new high-tech homes; here are a few features: 9′ ceilings, water saving plumbing fixtures, energy-efficient heating and cooling equipment, energy saving kitchen appliances, SOLATUBE day lighting, electric vehicle charging outlet, CFL or LED lighting, stainless steel appliances and new bathroom designs with occupancy sensor lighting.

Currently, there are four Shea SPACES communities:

Summer Lake in Oakley, California – From the low $200,000s – Phase 1 and 2 homes sold out
Avonlea in Corona, California – From the low $300s – Phase 5 homes just released
