The 2011 Eliant Homebuyers’ Choice Awards results were announced on January 19th, marking the 14th year of the survey-based competition. Forty-one different homebuilders in regions across the country were honored, based upon the results of over 55,000 surveys of buyers of new homes.
The star award-winner was Denver-based Richmond American Homes, which dominated the honors with 16 awards, scoring top-ranked results in four of the six main categories, including customer service and overall first-year quality. The Nevada, Phoenix and California divisions were particularly lauded, with outposts in Delaware Valley, Salt Lake City, Tucson and Virginia also placing among the award winners. The company was noted as a “clear customer favorite”, managing to deliver consistent quality and superior customer service across its many divisions, while meeting the needs of diverse
customers and markets.
The Olson Company, of Seal Beach, California, had the distinction of being the only company to place within the top three rankings in all of the main categories, raking in six awards including top honors in the design selection category.
Other standouts in the awards included Pardee Homes, with eight awards and a number one ranking for customer service; Rosewood Homes, recipient of “The Eliant” for best overall customer experience in a single division; and MBK Homes, which had a top-ranked purchasing experience among homebuyers, and also merited “The Eliant” as a multiple-division homebuilder.
Customers were queried in six key categories in their surveys: purchasing experience, design selection experience, construction experience, customer service, over-all first year quality, and whether or not their homebuilder was recommended to them by friends or family. Winners in each of the six categories were divided into three main segments, according to the size of the homebuilders involved. “High volume” homebuilders were those who closed over 250 homes in the 2010 sales year. “Large” builders closed between 100 and 249, with medium builders closing under 100.
The Eliant company, based in San Clemente, California, has been surveying buyers of new homes for 27 years. For a complete list of winners in all categories and segments, visit the Eliant website.
