Because of its ecological nature, the rules for building homes in the area are quite rigid. All homes have to contain at least 65% natural materials that has to cover at least 3 sides of the house. If the home is along the lake, all four sides must be made of these materials, which are: brick, stucco, stone, or wood. The minimum square footage of ranch homes is 2,300, two story homes 2,600. The average size of the property for each homeowner is 1/2 acre.
