When you think about the state of Georgia, what immediately comes to mind? Some common responses might be hospitality, sweet tea, or a southern drawl. While these are all excellent answers, you might be surprised to learn that Evans, Georgia has been listed as one of the best places in America to live by several prestigious publications.
The most recent publication to recognize Evans, Georgia is Family Circle magazine. In their August 2009 issue, Family Circle ranked Evans as number two on the Top 10 towns for families in the United States. Evans is the only city in Georgia to receive this designation. The ranking was based on towns with population of 15,000-150,000, affordable housing, top-notch schools, health care access, green spaces, low crime rates and financial stability.
Family Circle magazine is not the first to honor Evans, Georgia. Money Magazine has recognized Evans several times. Two of those recognitions are listed below.
2009-9th on list of Top 25 places in the U.S. with affordable housing and waterfront amenity
2005-32nd on list of Best Places to Live in America

I am considering moving to Georgia from the “Big Island” Hawaii. I am originally from the So.Texas area, but myself and my family have been living on the Islands for the past 10 years. We are very used to moderate climates, therefore we are considering relocating to either Georgia or So. Carolina. Aloha, lbo
