Florida Green Housing Site Misses The Mark

Back in January, the state of Florida decided to create a link off their main website to talk about the state’s initiatives towards having more energy efficient and green living homes. An offshoot of the Florida Housing Finance Corporation, the site, called Go Green, is supposed to give you all sorts of information on green initiatives and ways to make your home more energy efficient.

Unfortunately, it’s a mess, and if you click on that link above you’ll find yourself being asked for a username and password. Every link you try to click on that site will come up with the same thing, and sometimes you can’t get any information because you won’t have that information. I couldn’t even find a place on the site where one could request a username and password.

It’s too bad because the information you can get, once you get past having to hit “cancel” multiple times so you can see it, isn’t all that bad. However, the frustration will keep you from wanting to get all that deep into things. The only link on that site which won’t produce the log in authorization form is “contact us”, which opens up your email program so you can write them. However, you’re probably going to write to complain about the site more than to get more information on green living, and that’s a shame.
