One of the most popular neighborhoods in Los Angeles is the Unified School District in Sunset Strip. Sure, the homes are exclusive and stars like Brian Austin Green live in the area. But what seems to be drawing people aren’t the homes so much as one small elementary school.
That school is Wonderland Avenue Elementary, and it’s the second ranked elementary school in the state for academics. It’s a community school that prides itself in getting kids ready to exceed state mandates for education, and its students score very high on the tests. Because it’s still a community school, they can’t ban any students from attending, but families have gone out of their way to break their bank accounts to move into this area so their kids can have a chance at a better life later on.
And we mean pricey. If you’re not ready to start around at least $750,000 you’d better think about another place to reside. To rent a home in this area will cost you a minimum of $10,000 a month, though you’ll still be living pretty well. Some homes go for upwards of $8 million or more, yet the area still is fairly diverse, as long as one can afford to live here.
It’s a great neighborhood overall, and whether you’re looking at the school system or a safe neighborhood, as much of it is gated, this area of Hollywood Hills West area of Los Angeles is one you should check out.
