During this time of economic uncertainty, there are circumstances that could force to involuntarily sell your San Diego new home. If you price your home to high when you first decide to sell, your house will be ignored. Even after you decide to drop the price, it could take you months to sell. If you are in a need to sell your home quickly, put your home on the market at a slightly lower price than your competition, but no more than 10 percent. This should immediately grab the buyers’ interest.

Here are some tips for quick-turnaround sellers:

Eliminate Eyesores outside Your Home

Buyers will often obtain listings for properties they wish to see from the internet via e-mail from their agents. They will often drive by those listings to check out the house, so if your home lacks curb appeal, you’ll never get them inside to view your beautiful interior. If you have grass, keep your yard clean and trimmed. If you have gravel landscaping, rake it. If you have trees, keep the leaves off the lawn. If you have children, have them keep the toys, bikes, etc… off the lawn.

Eliminate “Visual Pollution” in the Home

Home Improvement projects don’t always have to cost a great deal of money. Cleaning and de-cluttering requires only elbow grease and a few basic supplies. During the process of cleaning your home remove your mementos and family photos from the walls. Also remove pictures, children’s drawings and magnets from the refrigerator.

Set a Deadline

If you have a tendency to drag your feet, setting yourself a deadline is something you absolutely have to do. Procrastinating in preparing your home could seriously disrupt your plans for a quick sale of the property. To avoid this from happening, on the day your home goes on the Multiple Listings Service, you should schedule a broker’s open house and invite all the real estate agents in your area.

Never Give Up

Everyone has heard about the sellers who just cannot seem to get rid of their homes because of the recession. Do not give up, for every neighborhood that is not selling, there are many more which are starting to sell more rapidly. Buyers and investors are trying to take advantage of the reasonable home price and low interest rates.
