When even the tiniest business opens, a ripple effect is created. That business hires employees and uses goods and services in the community to run.
Now, take that concept and put it on a much larger scale: that is what’s happening in West Point, Ga. with the opening of Kia Motors Manufacturing. Kia is expected to employ over 2,000 people. Suppliers are also moving to the area, and with all this new employment comes a new wave of residents. These residents need homes, groceries, doctors and accountants.
Greater Valley Group is contributing to the growth of the area with apartment communities, new home communities, commercial property and hotels. Not only do they provide beautiful homes for new and current residents of the area, they construction will also create jobs, therefor adding to the Kia ripple effect.
Dr. Judson Edwards, principal of Edwards Economics, LLC, has released a study on the economic impact of the West Point area. His study projects over a 10 year period:
• $1.527 billion in total output
• $317.9 million in employee compensation
• $30.9 in total indirect business tax collection
• 14,208 total jobs created from construction
• $317.9 million in total employee compensation from construction
• $60.9 million in total annual permanent compensation
The West Point area has a lot of growth and opportunity to look forward to in the future.

Some people who get this information early start to invest in the property in the region. But unfortunately, some people just too late to make any considerable profit.
That’s the truth. Sometimes, it just takes one new industry/business to the get the ball rolling and an entire community can see the benefits tenfold.
Yes I agree, to get the ball rolling someone has to start guiding. Thanks for the Post!
