Green & small are the two ways to go in the US – so long as interest rates (and hidden teaser rates) stay low enough to encourage people to go back into the housing market… as Alpharetta says, many shoppers still focus on monthly payments – sell the fact that monthly outgoings will be lower & a revival could be afoot.

Going “green” is a great choice for builders. Many of my recent Oregon buyers have wanted to see homes with green features. In the long run, green homes save home owners money on electricity, water, and other utility builds.

I would have to disagree with John. Larger houses are still selling if the property is right. There are several larger 5 bedrooms properties that have sold recently locally, all new builds.

I think it's really smart Builders are starting to offer smaller homes or low income housing. There is always going to be a demand for these homes and right now there is a shortage. Johns last blog post..Glen Burnie Real Estate
