The Neighborhoods of World Golf Village is excited to launch a full scale social media marketing program this summer. The program combines existing online activities with many new initiatives to create a comprehensive effort to help community staff and management, homeowners and homebuyers to connect in new ways. The Neighborhoods of World Golf Village is a masterplanned, golf course community in St. Johns County.
The community’s social media marketing plan includes a strong presence on popular online networking sites such as Facebook, YouTube and Twitter; as well as on real estate industry sites such as Trulia and ActiveRain. The goal of their new marketing direction is to make contact with current and prospective World Golf Village homebuyers, as well as industry professionals. The neighborhood has already seen a great response from its online community, with close to 250 Facebook fans within two weeks of launching their page, http://www.facebook.com/worldgolfvillage.
“We are always looking for innovative ways to reach our homebuyers and homeowners,” said Sherry Davidson, President of Davidson Realty, Inc. the broker for the master developer of The Neighborhoods of World Golf Village. “Most of our homebuyers are doing their research first online, so we want to make sure that they can find us and get the information that they need in the way that they want it, whether that be through our blog, Facebook, Twitter or YouTube.”
Their social media marketing program allows the community to provide important information, videos and photos to real estate agents and prospective buyers. Links to all of the community’s new sites can be found on the community’s corporate site, www.worldgolfrealestate.com. Videos can also be viewed by searching World Golf Village on Youtube.

It’s interesting to see how marketing products and real estate have changed with the use of the internet and the various ways it can be used. Print advertising is almost unheard of anymore. Social media sites are being used, but have not been mastered. Advertising in today’s market is something that has yet to be mastered, but this sure was a great attempt.
Social media is taking over and is becoming the choice for real estate and other industry marketing efforts. Businesses that you never heard of have gained popularity overnight due to a simple video that went viral. I don’t know where this is heading, but social internet connection is here to stay… at least for a while.
