World Golf Village is much more than your average golf community. Truthfully, a golf community is a dime a dozen. Every metropolitan area has a wide variety of golf communities for home shoppers to choose from. They all feature a beautiful golf course, clubhouse, pro shop, etc. So, when one St. Augustine golf community claims to offer a one-of-a-kind golf lifestyle, you no doubt have your reservations. However, continue reading to understand the difference between World Golf Village and all the other golf communities in the nation.
First and foremost, World Golf Village is home to two championship golf courses, not just one. And both of these courses were designed by two golf legends: King & Bear designed by Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus (the only course in the world co-designed by these two golf greats) and Sam Snead and Gene Sarazen were consultants for the design of the Slammer & Squire.
In addition, World Golf Village is home to the World Golf Hall of Fame that features a history of the sport and some of its legends. The Hall of Fame also features two permanent outdoor exhibits – the Putting Course and Challenge Hole. The Putting course is an 18-hole, real grass championship course for you to practice your putting skills. The Challenge Hole is a short, 132-yard shot-over-water, and special awards are given to those that can make it to the green twice or get a hole-in-one.
Anyone wanting a little more guidance can take lessons at the PGA TOUR Golf Academy. The TOUR academy at World Golf Village is the first TOUR academy in the nation, and it is one of the most recognized instructional academies in the country. Also at World Golf Village is a PGA TOUR STOP, which is more than your average golf shop. It is the largest golf store in all of Florida with 31,000 square feet of retail space with the finest golf brands and products available.
Any golf aficionado will love living in one of the St. Augustine golf homes at World Golf Village. As you can see, this no ordinary golf community.

Sounds like a great place to live and St Augustine is such an amazing beautiful city.
The World Golf Village is really a unique type of haven for golfers. You can definitely tell that the Golden Bear had his hand in the course design. There are really no golf communities in Southern California that compare to the Golf Village. Country Club courses and adjacent golf communities in San Diego are not nearly as golfer-centric.

Thanks for the great comments. World Golf Village is a great place to live. Every time we travel and play golf somewhere else, I wonder why I left home.
Matt, I grew up in Atlanta. I may have to check out some of your homes next time I am there. We get a lot of people moving to St. Augustine from Atlanta and sometimes they are moving from here up your way.
I haven’t been to San Diego yet, but I plan to get there before long.
