California has always been more progressive. It makes sense that solar homes would be offered there. For some reason, Las Vegas is lagging behind in that regard. We only have one development offering them at the moment. Makes no sense, given our climate.

America has a very short term thinking process. If we could just use our resources efficiently, we could really improve America. Wind power on the coast and mid-state, and solar where it is possible. Long term thinking in regards to power would have America back on top.

@Charles – California has been leading the way (at least from what I’ve seen) and for good reason – population. Hopefully, Las Vegas and other states get on board soon.

@Lenda – I’m not sure right now. Months ago, I read a few articles stating that solar and greener home sales were up, but it seems as though those headlines vanished with gas price decreases…such a shame. It relates to what Todd said above – short term thinking.

Solar homes are amazing and I appreciate how home developers would build such amazing and eco-friendly homes. Not only solar homes are beneficial to the homeowners but it is also beneficial to the environment. I hope other home developers will be inspired by Elliott Homes and Lennar’s idea of building Solar homes.
