–>Skip Week #6 Details – Take Me to Week #7<–
It’s Tuesday and time to see who won last week’s Charity Football Pool. There were a total of 6 submissions and we raised $30, or 20% of our $150 goal. I’ll admit that week #6 was a little disappointing, but it wasn’t a complete disaster. In fact, after a little thought, I was able to find a gem of good news…things can only get better, the worst is over.
So who’s the lucky winner you ask?
Rod Jacobsen, a Phoenix accountant, managed to pull off a victory with only 3 losses, I’m not sure how he did it, this week’s round of upsets made my picks look like the Tennessee Titans in New England, ouch. Who picks the Oakland Raiders over the Eagles anyway, Rod?
Congratulations Rod and thanks for playing, we’ve donated the $30 you won to your favorite charity, Shriners Hospitals for Children. Check back tomorrow to learn more about our winner’s business!
Alright, lets get ready for week 7:
Here’s how it works… Each week during the NFL football regular season, we will be posting a list of team matchups. From there, contestants must select which team they think is going to win each matchup. The contestant who picks the most winning teams is then allotted the entire donation amount ($5 per contestant), regardless of what happens, I keep, err – 100% of all entry monies will be donated to the charity of the winner’s choice on behalf of the winner.
Yes, this is very similar to regular office football pools. And yes, there are a few rules that will be stated in bullet points:
• $5 to enter, no more, no less.
• If there is a tie, the winner will be determined by the contestant who predicts Monday’s game score within the closest amount of points (over or under the score).
• If the above tie breaker results in yet another tie, the winnings will be split among each of the winners.
Below are this week’s football matchups. Copy and paste the following to a word processor or text file and email to footballpool@newhomessection.com, or leave a list of your winning teams and the combined score of the Monday night game in the comments below, before midnight Saturday.
All bets are off Sunday. **Please include in your email your email used to submit the donation and don’t worry, you can donate now and pick your teams tomorrow.

Hey Matt, you should have waited until I posted my picks so that you could use them as a guide. I’ll let you edit them if you want, I guess

Jayson, you didn’t pick Atlanta again…there’s one loss for you
@Matt – It would’ve been a loss, if Atlanta was good.
I think the Cardinals are holding a clinic next week. If you want, I can ask if they’ll let the Falcons attend.
Yeah, I wasn’t very impressed with the Falcons performance. I still have faith that they will make it to the playoffs. Although, Monday night is going to be a tough one!
Yeah, they should get to the playoffs, but Monday will definitely be a rough game for them. Good luck
Good job guys, this is a great way to raise money for a good cause. At some point I think I will add something of this sort to my site.
