It is good to see all the discounts but I can’t help to think what kind of dire straits these builders are in. You see all of these government programs to help distressed home owners retain ownership and the first time home buyers credits, but what about the builders who are hanging on to several spec homes?
Strong New Home Builder incentives PLUS $8000 Federal Tax Credit PLUS Record low interest rates ought to get things moving again.
@Lou – That is the main focus of the builders I speak with. Move the last of their inventory homes so they can start building again.
@Terry – I sure hope so!
Discounts are good but i don’t think it is for win-win solution. There is some catch on it though.
Thanks for the info, I´ll check it out now!

Thanks for the detailed list… I can hardly believe the value that comes with a new Shea Home – not to mention the pricing!!
Great list, we need more energy efficient homes and materials in times like these. Often energy efficient materials are cheaper, even if they aren’t, the investment certainly pays off.
Sorry to sound like a party pooper but haven’t we learned anything from what’s happened over the last few years?
To rescue the economy we need to start saving and stop borrowing. Energy efficient homes will let us save a lot for the future and help the climate.
I agree, but for most people going all out on a energy efficient house isn't an option because of the cost.
