San Diego is in my opinion one of the nicest cities to live in. The weather is always nice and the land is beautiful. If you have the money to spend, re-financing is a great option with the state of the housing market.

Refinancing can really save you a ton of money if you are able to afford it. The rates are at an all time low and are not likely to get this low for some time once the housing market picks back up.

Do you have both mortgages tied up in a wrap around mortgage?If so, you are in a bad possition to be in.I recomend calling a Realtor in San Diego and explain this to him or her and have them explain to you your options.The real estate market in San Diego is good although prices have dropped about 30+ % in the last two years.Their is a shortage of good qualified buyers right now unless you are willing to sell real cheap.Go to Realtor .com and input the san diego zip code and find a realtor their to call.Good luck to you and your husband.

You are right on. Refinancing (for those who can met the current criteria) can save people thousands each year. Rates are at historic lows. Its really a perfect storm of events that have driven rates this low. Rates are more likely to double in 5 years than to even drop another 1/2 percentage point.
