Strong winds are blamed for spreading wildfires that destroyed 32 homes in the Northern California area. The L.A. Times reported that twenty condominium units, nine single-family homes, and a triplex unit was destroyed Tuesday in Stockton—roughly 50 miles south of Sacramento.

Wildfires are burning in several areas of Northern California and are responsible for burning close to 8,000 acres. There are no reports of civilian injuries, but a fire captain was hospitalized with second and third-degree burns.

Gusty winds of up to 40 miles per hour had many worried about further spread of the fire. Home owners and business owners helped to battle the blaze by watering down roofs and structures that were potentially in danger of igniting.
