I have always admired the architecture in New Mexico. Many of the builders in Central Texas have tried to imitate or utilize the New Mexicican or southwestern style of archtecture and color schemes. It is very warm and welcoming for a family’s day to day living lifestyles.
I just attended the 2008 GREEN Real Estate Conference in Denver and had the pleasure of traveling through New Mexico on the way back to Austin. We stayed at a KOA outside of Santa Fe and enjoyed eating green chili stew and fishing. I just sold a GREEN home in Leander, near Austin, that was Southwestern/New Mexico influenced. Made of ICF (Insulated Concrete Panel constuction, ex. Rastra), it had a stucco exterior. Our juniper enhanced Hill Country reminds me of New Mexico.
Nice post, It is so nice to have basically a directory like you have created here. The style of many of these homes is quite nice as well.
It is true that the trend of homes in New Mexico is very unique…
That is nice of you to have resources for home builders in certain locations to have internet users be able to look for certain home developments and home builders who build the type of homes that they would like.
My Uncle used to live in Los Cruces, a suburb of Albuquerque. He went back recently and couldn’t believe the growth there.
