Green Home Floor Plan
Today’s floor plan is a ‘green’ home floor plan that was featured in the NAHB’s Nation’s Building News. The Chaleff House, built by Chaleff & Rogers Architects in Water Mill, N.Y., is an eco-friendly home built with the most sustainable and energy-efficient practices available.
Built in 2007, this house was constructed with structural insulated panels (SIPs) and recycled composite materials. The majority of the home’s power is derived from two photovoltaic solar panels situated on the roof. Chaleff also used renewable materials when constructing his home, such as fiber-cement siding, and wood from sustainable forests.
