I purchased a Sears Energy Star Fridge and later found it was an LG fraudulent non Energy Star. LG had manipulated the fridge to pass the test for the ES rating. The DOE made them pay a fine, admit nothing, put a part in place on our fridge that was missing so it would pass, and pay us the difference between the ES savings and what we will pay for the next 14 years. My check this year is $3.74. My energy savings on a $3,000 refrigerator is only worth $3.74 a year……Its not enough for all the trouble.
