It is possible to get your lawn weed free. There are plenty of chemical and organic treatments you can use to kill weeds but not the lawn. I see plenty of lawns out here in Austin TX that are green and free of weeds.

The idea is to grab a buyer’s attention and keep it. Walking up to a well maintained, inviting home really makes a difference. I would also remember to update your mailbox if it sits outside of your home. A mailbox that complements the home can help add to your home’s curb appeal.

You make some great points here. I completely agree that curb appeal in necessary and that you need to keep up the outside image of your house. However, you can’t neglect the inside of you home either. The exterior will attract buyers, but the interior will get them to ope their wallet, and purchase your home.

This is very good advice. One important thing when trying to create a good first impression is the condition of the front door and area surrounding it. When an agent is standing at the door trying to get the key from the lock box, the buyers will stand there for a few minutes and really look around at every detail. If all looks good, they will have positive thoughts upon entering, but if not, they may walk inside and start looking for other problems.A positive first impression goes a long way in any market.

I don’t like to see advice like “make sure your lawn is free of weeds”. I have never seen a “green” lawn that was weed-free yet! Thank god where I live people think dandelions are beautiful and a natural part of the lawn.

Matt has a good point: that a purchase can all boil down to prices. I agree with you to a degree since all buyers are limited by their budget whether they like it or not.

But given a choice between different houses on the same price range, I would say a homebuyers would definitely choose whatever stood out for them or the house that they felt a connection with.

Like it or not, most of us dont use solely reason when making decisions, as classical economists have pointed.
