Do you see the ad on the right sidebar for the property in Costa Rica? As I write this, it’s been up for about 5-days and has received just over 40 clicks. I know that’s not too impressive for many of you, but if it’s free, you can’t complain…and with a $50 bonus…you better not complain!

Have you ever wondered what it costs for a home builder to build a home, how much it costs a builder each month to keep a home on their books, or if a home builder thinks the Fix Housing First Proposal is a good idea?

Steve Doyle, President of Brookfield Homes’ San Diego/Riverside Division is offering an open invitation to find out a little more about what he thinks about the current economy, the housing industry’s future and/or what’s going on behind the doors of Brookfield Homes’ San Diego/Riverside Division.

Steve mentioned he’ll blog about whatever readers wanted to know, so ask him anything you want about building, development or anything housing related; you can even ask about his dogs. It’s a great opportunity to get up-to-date information from an industry executive and the only time I’ve seen a senior housing manager open up to the public.

The contest is simple, just let us know you’re entering the contest in our comments below and then head over here and use the same name (and email just in case) to ask Steve any question you want to know. I’m sure Steve’s busy and he may not get an opportunity to answer all questions, so we won’t wait, in February, we’ll throw the names of all entrants into a hat and pick one. The winner gets $50, and ad placement for 30-days in place of that current Costa Rica ad – Contest Ends on January 31st.

Note: This contest is not sponsored in anyway by Brookfield Homes or Steve Doyle…Hopefully he doesn’t mind any extra work! I just think it’s a great opportunity for us all to learn a little.

Good luck!

Adam – thanks for stopping by again. I’d imagine Steve knows quite a bit about green opportunities for housing. He’s written a few great posts about green building and I’m sure Brookfield Homes has explored those possibilities – the only way to find out for sure though is to ask him on his blog.

Jayson, thanks for stopping by my blog. I left a comment answering your question. I have a question for Steve, why does he think builders are reluctant to incorporate solar panels and related energy saving technology as a standard practice in new homes, especially since commercial buildings are going full bore.

Sounds like a great way to learn something and maybe even win $50. I have always wondered what it costs for a home builder to build a home.
