There is a new twist on taking care of your home and it is called smart technology. It is becoming more and more common in many new homes and it might be exactly what you need to make your life a little easier.
A smart home uses advanced technology in order to complete simple tasks such as turning your lights off and on or even adjusting the heating and air conditioning in your home. You can do these things by simply using your voice or you can even use a remote control.
You may have seen the new fans that are available now. These ceiling fans have this technology and many of them come with remote controls. This allows you to turn the fan off or one and to adjust the settings of it without needing to get up. This can be a great way to manage the temperature of a room while you sit and relax.
Not everyone will think that smart technology home is for them. However, think about a few of the benefits before you make any final decisions.
- Your child will be able to help get the lights. You will not have to get up and turn the lights off and on for them all of the time.
- You will be able to turn the lights off an on without any complications if your hands are full. This decreases stress because it is like having another hand around the house.
- You will not need to move around the house on your way out setting the heat or turning off appliances because you can simply speak and it will be done. This is a great time saver.

Smart home technology we have in Spain and is great especially for the holiday home market where people can switch on the air conidtioning by mobile phone from the airport or the heating depending n the time of the year.

Cool gadgets but it may not be appropriate for my home. My parents seem to have this barrier to technology.

Home automation could also be used as an effective home security measure for home owners who’ve left on vacation by creating a false appearance of activity inside the home–turning lights on and off, etc.

Smart Technology is always easier technology. Sometimes these gadgets cause more issues than they are worth with costly repairs and installations. There is always a market for niche groups though.

What I’d like to see is a smart phone app that allows the user to interface with the automation system. You’d think that has to be on the near horizon.
