Clarovista: Edgewater’s New Construction Mid-rise

Jameson DevelopmentsIn the Edgewater neighborhood near the Loyola University campus in Chicago is the new construction mid-rise building, Clarovista, with 160 units ranging from comfortable one bedrooms to spacious three bedrooms. The building, completed in late 2009, had its grand opening in January 2010 and since has brought new business and residents to the Edgewater area with its Chicago condos.

Rebranding the Building
When the building moved from being managed by Keonig & Strey to Jameson Real Estate, the brokerage relaunched the partially finished building with a new name and a large marketing budget. The name Clarovista, meaning “clear view,” came from the city and Lake Michigan views offered by the residences. Residents get to take special advantage of the great southern and eastern views with floor-to-ceiling windows.

Features of Clarovista
In addition to great views and floor-to-ceiling windows, condos at Clarovista are outfitted with features to please any home buyer looking for modern, contemporary comfort in their home. Twenty different floor plans within the building offer a varied selection of spaces from 900-square-foot one bedroom condos to three bedroom/two bath units just under 16,000 square feet.

Kitchen in Jameson CondoOn the fifth floor, which is the first floor of residential units, condos have large terraces that sit on top of garage parking for the building. All other floors’ units have fourteen by five foot balconies. Additionally, all units have 9-foot ceilings, hardwood floors and stainless GE kitchen fixtures. In the models that were finished before sale, you’ll find kitchens with custom maple cabinetry, 1 1/4 inch granite counter tops, and Grohe under-mount faucets. Master baths in the building have large soaking tubs and separate showers, marble counter tops and double sinks. For privacy, there is concrete between each floor and blown-in sound-proofing between all walls.

Residents can expect monthly assessments to run from about $220 to $280, which includes all utility and facility costs except personal electricity and phone. Covered, garage parking is readily available — since some current residents opted not to buy parking, buyers can even have the opportunity to purchase more than one spot in the garage per unit.

Neighborhood Attractions
The vibrant north Chicago neighborhood of Edgewater welcomes Clarovista as one of the few new construction developments in the area. As the home to Loyola University, the neighborhood has the personality of college town within the city. Locally-owned businesses like Third Coast Comics, Metropolis Coffee Co., and Ethiopian Diamond restaurant are local favorites within walking distance of the new development. It is also conveniently located just across the street from the Granville stop of the Red Line "El." The discount grocery Aldi has also taken residence in the retail space of the building, making for easy shopping for residents of Clarovista and its surroundings.
