A sales information center is opening this weekend for the eco-savvy Carlsbad new homes at Rockrose at The Foothills, according to builder Brookfield Homes. Please join our interest list for updates as more information becomes available.
Well it is official, construction on the first phase of homes at the Rockrose at The Foothills are now under way. There are going to be three model homes opening in the spring of 2010. Just east of El Camino Real in Carlsbad these homes will be located approximately 3 miles from the ocean. Homes in this beautiful master planned community range from 2,116 – 3,166 sq. ft. There are three floor plans that include 3 to 4 bedroom and 2 to 4.5 bathrooms. Every Rockrose home will exceed California’s standards for energy efficiency by at least 35 percent. At buildout Rockrose will have 404 homes sitting on 157 acres; the homes in this master planned community will start in the low $600s.
Brookfield Homes is building a 2.6 acre, The Foothills Swim Club, residents-only recreation center that will feature a resort-style swimming pool, children’s pool, picnic area with barbecues and paddle tennis courts. Being built right across the street is going to be a new high school campus which is scheduled to open in the fall of 2013. Future phases are expected to include a fourth single-family new home neighborhood, a commercial office building and an RV storage facility. Nearly half of the property at The Foothills master planned community in Carlsbad will be preserved as permanent open space, providing a key connection to the habitat management program for the City.
Brookfield currently is building in the master planned communities of The Foothills in Carlsbad, Windingwalk in Chula Vista, The Estates at StoneBridge east of Scripps Ranch in San Diego, Old Creek Ranch new homes in San Marcos and Morningstar Ranch in Winchester. Sounds like an exciting place to live. I really like that they are promoting green living. It is something that I am passionate about. I am sure that the price of these homes are comparable to those in the area. Carlsbad is a beautiful city in California.
It’s good news for people who really care about green living. Looks like it has many great amenities. I wonder how much if any of the homes in this community have an energy star rating great for those who want to go eco-friendly.
