Are these true lofts or just condos that they are calling lofts? A lot of people were surprised that Las Vegas had some true loft projects. Not a lot of them were built, but there are a few around town. I’m surprised to see some in Atlanta.

I am not an expert on “City Living” but it appears that this type of housing caters to the lower income and not the highly desired lifestyle. Lower price ranges and the ability to get things done without a car speak lower income. I doubt many people would want to walk to the grocery store since you have to walk back carrying bags. I am sure these lofts are nice and certainly have their clientele, but I am not sure it’s for those financially established.
Here in Marbella – Spain want 9 of 10 walking distance to super market, schools, shops, restaurants, bar and the beach. They don’t want to use the car, they want also to live in a area with very little traffic because of the noise and pollution.
The floor to ceiling windows give these lofts a nice modern design. I’m curious who built them? We have several small builders in San Diego who are making the most of the current market with small niche developments. Find a popular location, add an infill town home development, and they are still selling profitably. Hopefully the lenders will loosen up on credit requirements for the small niche builders.

Great article – the location and convenience of condos definitely make them worth considering instead of a traditional home.
The benefit of owning one of these great lofts is the many benefits that it can give to anyone wanting a home without a lot of the hassels that one normally comes with, such as lawn up keep.
The obvious question here is however nice they might be, are they actually selling?
