Tempe Town Lake Condos
Tempe Town Lake is an artificial lake built into the riverbed of the Salt River, which passes through the city of Tempe, AZ. The town of Tempe adopted the Rio Salado Master Plan in 1989. This plan suggested a continuous body of water between the north and south shores, creating a Town Lake concept. 1996 brought the city to designate 800 acres of land, including the lake, to be included in Rio Salado Park. In 1997 the city held groundbreaking ceremonies to begin construction of the lake. The lake was filled with water in the summer of 1999 and opened to the public in November.
Many residential communities are being built on Tempe Town Lake. With the combination of a great view, shops, entertainment, restaurants and outdoor recreation so close these communities are filling up fast. A five-story condominium in the Northshore area sold nearly 75 percent of the residences at the new development in less than one week. Close proximity to five freeways, acres of parks, an active downtown area and other activities make Tempe Town Lake unlike any other city in Arizona.
Builders in the area are constructing many condominiums for sale right on the lake. With hundreds more planned in the surrounding area, some already under construction, Tempe Town Lake may be the next best place to live in Arizona. From flats to high rises, luxury condos and lofts, there are projects suited for almost everyone. SunCor Development Company has the Edgewater and Bridgeview condominiums at Hayden Ferry Lakeside. WestStone Communities has Northshore and Onyx Towers at Playa del Norte. These are just a few of the many projects that are being planned and developed in the area.
